the life of pablo

7/10
favourite track: saint pablo
im not as crazy about this one as everyone else seems to be. i always see it in discussions of his best albums when I dont even think its in the top half of his discog. hot take but id put donda over tlop. i am not however a tlop hater. it has some of his best work ever with nmpila and st pablo and wolves was the first ye song I heard that really got me in to him. that shit scared me and it made me feel like no other song had before. I just dont think the album comes together particuarly well. there isnt a bad song on this record but it does feel incredibly disjointed and almost a black sheep. i think its because every other ye album has a consistent sonic landscape which tlop just doesnt that im so harsh on it. maybe you just had to be there idk.
