19th May 2026 - darker than dark
haiiii everypony! i was thinking a lot yesterday about when ralsei says that the fountain in castle town is of pure darkess. what does this mean exactly? idrk but i have an interesting theory on what the implications might be. ralsei looks like asriel. the knight looks like dess. it is very difficult to nail down an object for ralsei and the knight moves like no lightner would. perhaps then, a fountain of 'pure dark' creates not a titan, but a 'pure darkner'? perhaps it is the elements which cause suffering or the 'dark' parts of ones personhood. so for december it wouold be her rebelliousness, but taken to the logical extreme of perhaps being a beast. and for ralsei it is harder to say. perhaps it is kris? their want to be useful and fit in in their community? and this manifests in someone who exists purely for others. perhaps the reason that dess is missing is because her monster soul could not handle this process? idk why there actually is a fountain in the closet though. seems like a weird place to make one, or why there are two which take precedent, i just think it would be a neat concept. perhaps dess' soul is still in the knight, or down in the shelter. just some thoughts ive had
15th May 2026 - the white pen of hope
haiiii everypony! ive recently replayed deltarune with my girlfriend and it was so awesome!! we're so krusie coded //^w^//!! anyways ive recently finished reading homestuck about a month ago and its given me some new theories on what will happen in deltarune. i think that susie will have to leave the narrative. it has been established that the prophecy is unbreakable and i think this is true. this i feel is most strongly confirmed by the fact that the shadow crystals do not distort the prophecy in any way. there is obviously the correlation between the secret bosses who know more about the reality of deltarune and the shadow crystals which show an alternate view of reality, or a 'true' view. which one is not clear, but either way the fact is that the prophecy seems to be inaliable from the events of the game. i then believe that in order to avoid whatever the final tragedy is, susie will have to leave the narrative, to go to gaster's layer in order to rewrite the story. idk what gaster wants but he definitely wants the prophecy to be followed through, and I think this will be the final boss. however, there will be sacrifice. I think that Susie will have to sacrifice her place in the narrative after just obtaining it. it would be a great conclusion to her character arc, despite it not really having a happy ending. i kind of wish this doesnt come to pass but imo its the most logical conclusion to the themes that deltarune has set up
18th August 2025 - sumna deltarunia
if we can assume that christianity does indeed exist in deltarune by the concept of sin, what does the Bible say about man? is only humanity made in God's image or is monsterkind too? If Jesus was either man or monster would that not cause a stark power imbalance? perhaps Jesus in the deltarune universe is of 3 natures. Divine, Human and Monster. idk how that would work but yknow. Also can we then infer Rome and Palestine to exist? How would these nations developed with a mix of human and monster, or were they not integrated? I can see monsters existing in Rome of all places, purely bc of the incredibly multi ethnic makeup of the empire. Were the Israelites humans? Monsters? A mix of both? Would antisemitism still arise? If so where do the parallels to human history end? We can assume they took a similar form until the early first century. Church doctrine from there can't really be established further than like sin. Looking at the interior of the church it seems to be a protestant one, or at least inspired by protestant architecture, albeit it on the slightly more ornate side. For these designs to come into existence necessitates a pretty similar architectural lineage of church architecture. This implies that the structures and beliefs of the church were similar to in human history. Unless perhaps this specific style arose completley independently from the deltarune faith. It is unknown how long this religion has existed. It could be that Christianity is a fringe religion and it's deltaruneism that was the cultural force of the church. All this however hinges on the extrapolation that sin can only exist in Christianity, and there is no other religion in deltarune with this concept, or that Christianity is in any way the same to our version.
7th June 2025 - deadcember
I think dess is dead. chapter 4 shows that lightners can persistent past death in the dark worlds. if this is true it makes it pretty difficult to exist in the light world as she obviously can. we've seen how the dark has corrupted her form as the knight. perhaps she can exist for some time outside of the dark world? like the darkness has become her soul. in the knight fight there's text that says a strong breeze is blowing in from the north east. where is there breeze in the north east? the lake. also we get the mention of waves in raise up your bat and the depths imagery in the knight fight. I think that song that onionsan heard is lost girl. I think dess drowned. but she was "lost were the forest would grow" in the sense that her as a person was lost in the dark world. in the pursuit of persisting past death she lost herself. just like flowey and alphys to an extent. and perhaps even gaster? (I'm reaching a bit with that one). it'd a reflection of our own determination. creating these alternate worlds to persist past death. also dess' final attack mirroring asriel's hypergoner is just further evidence. she is deltarune's flowey. a twisted mirror of the player.
[BONUS THEORY TIME]
it might still even be carol, wanting to spread the darkness so her child can live, that once the roaring comes dess can live forever
